Insulated Versus Non-Insulated Vinyl Siding: How They Differ
Vinyl siding isn’t just meant to make your house look good, it acts as a barrier against the outside elements including weather and pests. Yet, some vinyl siding can do even more than that. We thought we’d break down the difference between our 6000 Series (insulated) vinyl siding and our 4000 Series (uninsulated) vinyl siding.
When compared against cost, appearance, installation, durability, energy savings, and resale value, which one reigns supreme?
Cost
When it comes down to it, both vinyl siding options give you a great bang for your buck. Our 6000 Series vinyl siding has added insulation that provides year-round energy savings. The thick insulation will keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Therefore, you’ll see lower monthly energy bills for extensive savings year after year.
Appearance
Both our 4000 Series and 6000 Series vinyl siding are beautiful and come in a wide range of colors. However, there are a few factors that tip our 6000 Series over the edge. For one, our 6000 Series, thanks to its foam insulation backing, is a more rigid product, which means it can come in wider slats and darker colors without fear of warping under the sun. Moreover, a heavier, more rigid siding will lay a little heavier on the exterior of your home, giving it a flatter appearance.
However, our 4000 Series siding also comes in an extensive variety of colors or a wood grain texture.
Installation
When it comes to our team, we never use subcontractors, so everyone is experienced on the installation of our 4000 Series and 6000 Series vinyl siding. Our siding looks great, but more importantly it holds up over time.
Durability
Vinyl siding is extremely durable and both our 4000 Series siding and 6000 series are engineered to withstand moisture, weather, winds, and resist cracking.
Energy Savings
Insulated siding will save you more on your energy bill. The entire purpose of insulated siding is to add one more barrier between the inside of your home and the outside air. Not only does insulated siding allow your home to stay at the perfect temperature, but it can even help dampen outside noise.
Resale Value
When it comes to siding, insulated siding acts as a thermal blanket of protection around your home, reduces your energy costs and withstands severe weather and winds.. All of these perks can be conveyed when it's time to sell your home, which will result in a higher resale value.

After all of this, you might be wondering which is best. We think that is a hard question to answer because "best" depends entirely on your circumstances.
